Getting the Word Out: by JR Whitby, President/CEO
Our heartfelt desire is for every person on the planet to have a chance to hear, understand and respond to the Gospel. I have even been audacious enough to say publicly that I believe it would happen in my lifetime. I have always felt that I probably have another 12 to 15 years of active ministry left ahead of me. As we envisioned the future, a wise counselor asked, "what would you do if you knew you only had 5 years of ministry left? What are the ministry projects and goals that just have to be accomplished before your ministry is through?" Of course the next logical question is what if you only have 1 year? And when you or a loved one is faced with a potentially lifethreatening diagnosis you examine your priorities. What are you most passionate about now? What if I only had a short time to live. What would I have to accomplish? Jesus said in John 9 that "We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over." The Message The truth is, none of us are guaranteed even tomorrow. We must answer Christ's call, today, to go into all the world and get the Word out! PS. Stay tuned for new methods and opportunities for Gospel Communications for the future. It is beginning now. |
